dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between firm operations and Employee Satisfaction in National water and Sewerage Corporation. It was guided by the Maslow‟s Theory of Motivation as well as the Theory X & Y, and it sought to examine the relationship between firms planning and growth opportunities, relationship between firm budgeting and growth opportunities and relationship between firm control and employee trust. The study adopted cross sectional correlation survey design using quantitative method and it drew a sample size of 124 from a population of 180 employees of NWSC Arua using simple random and purposive sampling. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources using questionnaires and documentary reviews. The study found that there was a negative but insignificant relationship between planning and employee satisfaction. Despite improvement in organization planning this has not translated to employee satisfaction at NWSC. There was also a negative and insignificant negative relationship between budgeting and employee satisfaction. The results implied that the budgeting practice at NWSC has not contributed to employee satisfaction within the organization. However, a positive but insignificant relationship was found between control and employee satisfaction. Essentially, the findings postulated that while enhancing control increases the possibility of enhancing employee satisfaction, this is not the case at NWSC. Based on these findings, the study recommended that the management of NWSC should set up performance appraisal systems that meet the expectation of the employees in the organization, improve working environment, and empower employees through training programs to widen their knowledge and abilities as well as promote good relationship with coworkers and supervisors. | |
