Abstract
The study examined the relationship between stakeholder inclusiveness and project performance within Kampala District. under four objectives; to examine the Relationship between Stakeholder Inclusiveness and performance youth skills development projects; to examine the Relationship between Stakeholder Inclusiveness and Risk Management; to examine the Relationship between Risk Management and performance of youth skills development projects as well as to examine the mediating role of Risk Management on the relationship between Stakeholder Inclusiveness and Project performance. Guided by a cross – sectional design on a sample of 320 participants, the study collected data using survey questionnaires. Data was processed in SPSS and analysed using means, standard deviations, correlations and regression models. Results indicated that stakeholder inclusiveness through collaboration dialogue and consultation positively associated with project performance and stakeholder inclusiveness positively predicts project performance. Results further indicate that risk management is a significant mediator of the relationship between stakeholder inclusiveness and project performance. Based on the findings, the researcher concludes that stakeholder inclusiveness is a positive and significant predictor of project performance while risk management mediates the relationship between the two variables. The researcher therefore recommends that recommends proper definition of project objectives. This is achieved through ensuring clarity in project objectives which helps stakeholders understand what the project aims to achieve. This will enhance inclusiveness and ensure everyone is aligned towards common goals. There is a need to identify and map stakeholders. The study suggests that project managers should identify all stakeholders, including direct and indirect beneficiaries, and partners. The essence is that a comprehensive stakeholder map shall help in understanding their interests, expectations, and potential contributions, fostering inclusiveness. It shall also help in creating tailored communication and engagement strategies.
