Abstract
The study examined the relationship between job demands, employee well-being, and job performance in Animal feed manufacturing firms in Kampala Metropolitan. The study used cross sectional design with quantitative approaches. The study involved 70 animal feed manufacturing companies, 2 managers & 2 employees were selected from each company as population of the study. Data collection utilized questionnaires. Data was analyzed to obtain frequencies, percentages and correlations and regressions results. In the study, it was revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between job demand, employee wellbeing and supplier performance in the Animal feed manufacturing firms in Kampala Metropolitan.
Also, a positive relationship exists between job demand and employee wellbeing. The results also show that job demand and employee wellbeing are significant predictors for job performance. The most influential predictor of job performance was employee well-being. It was therefore concluded that there is a need to improve on job demand by working on some elements of job demand like emotional demands that could be influencing employees not to appreciate job demand situations. There is a need to improve employee well-being in the sector by fostering open and transparent communication, and ensuring that employees are informed about company updates, goals, and changes that may affect employee wellbeing.
