The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychological capital, employability and career success among teachers in public secondary schools in Iganga district. The study intended to achieve four research objectives that include; (i) examining the relationship between psychological capital and employability, (ii) establishing the relationship between employability and career success, (iii) examining the relationship between psychological capital and Career success and (iv) establishing the mediating role of employability in the relationship between psychological capital and career success. The study employed a cross sectional research design and a quantitative approach to collect primary data from teachers in the seven (7) public secondary schools in Iganga district using a closed ended questionnaire that was anchored on six likert scale. The study used simple random sampling technique to select the 205 respondents to participate in the study and 205 questionnaires were distributed among the public secondary school teachers but only 140 were returned and used in the analysis of this study leading to a response rate of 68.3%. The validity and reliability of the instrument was tested and passed with values above the threshold of .7 and above. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25 for both descriptive and inferential statistics. Mediation analysis was conducted using an online medigraph that computed the mediation effect of employability in the relationship between psychological capital and career success. The researcher was well aware that the research ethics and principles are essential for any research. Therefore; such principles were adhered to in the best possible manner. Such ethical principles included but not limited to; respect of intellectual property and authorship and secrecy while considering the issue of confidentiality. The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant positive association between; psychological capital and career success(r=.511, p<.01), psychological capital and employability (r=.740, p<.01) as well as employability and career success (r=.367, p<.01). Findings of multiple regression analysis, revealed that psychological capital contributed significantly to career success (Beta=.529; p<.01) while employability could not make any significant contribution to career success. Findings further revealed that employability has no significant mediating role in the relationship between psychological capital and career success. It is therefore vital that the government of Uganda puts in place measures that will elevate secondary school teachers‟ levels of; hope, optimism, resilience and self-efficacy. The government of Uganda should also review its policies and strategies with an aim of stab promoting the psychological capital of teachers. This will persuade those who have pursued a teaching career to attain and retain their jobs. This study informs both policy and practice in enhancing career success.
