- ItemSustainability of a project: A case of world vision Uganda, Busia cluster(Makerere University Business School, 2018-12) Mitala, Timothy NehemiahsonThis research fulfilled two objectives which were to analyse activities that contributed to project sustainability and to determine stakeholder’s understanding of their roles, dimensions and perspective of a project. This was done through conducting a research in Busia District in the areas of Busia Municipal Council, Lunyo, Busime, Busitema and Sikuda sub counties areas support by World Vision. A study was conducted on 187 respondents on project sustainability. Data were collected by a valid and reliable questionnaire, analyzed and interpreted. 39.3% of the respondents agreed noted that the project team leaders did not consider them while designing the project, they do not participate in designing the project and they do not consider their roles as important to the success of the project. The findings in this research show that community members could influence the way sustainability was implemented in the project and the project management process. This perception was based on the notion that the community especially the local structures were intrinsically motivated to work on a project and make it sustainable and achieve sustainable results The Research paper concluded by showing that Project sustainability is now a common approach related to the management of projects that require effective and efficient service delivery. Key stakeholders needed to be involved from concept writing through all the stages of the project life cycle.
