Abstract
This study aimed to explore the association between relationship quality, information integration and SC performance in pharmaceutical firms in Kampala and Wakiso. The study used adopted quantitative cross-sectional design using a population of 550 pharmaceutical companies Accordingly, a sample size of 226 firms was used and self-administered questionnaires distributed. Overall, 181 companies responded, giving a response rate of 86.8%. Following the research objectives, correlations and regression analysis were run. Accordingly, the findings showed a positive association between; relationship quality and supply chain performance, relationship quality and informational integration and information integration and SC performance. Furthermore, relationship quality and information integration were found to make up to 23.9% SC performance. Lastly, information integration arose as a partial mediator in the association between relationship quality and SC performance. Based on these study results, recommendations were put forward on the need to strengthen relationship quality and information integration so as to improve SC performance in Ugandan pharmaceutical companies.
