The study sought to establish the relationship between procurement practices and service delivery among road construction projects in Mbarara municipality. It was based on three objectives which were to examine the relationships between procurement planning, procurement policy and sustainable procurement with service delivery. This was guided by cross-sectional design and a sample of 56 out of 65 road projects in Mbarara District was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s 1970 sampling table. The data were collected using self-administered questionnaires. The correlation coefficient analysis revealed positive significant relationships between procurement planning and service delivery (r=.584, p≤.01), There was also a significant relationship policy procurement and service delivery (r=.586, p≤.01). Furthermore, there was also a significant positive relationship between sustainable procurement (r=.572, p≤.01). Furthermore, a hierarchical regression analysis indicated that procurement planning, procurement policy and sustainable procurement explain 43.7% of the variations in service delivery (Adj R2 of 0.437). Therefore, the procurement of Mbarara District should ensure that there is proper procurement planning through ensuring that there is proper risk management since this will safeguard the projects from being aborted by the contractors. In addition, needs assessment should be carried out so that the society doesn’t reject the project and finally quality specification should be maintained through the project since this will lead to service delivery.
