| dc.description.abstract | The study sought to examine the relationship between access to finance and survival of female-owned small and medium enterprises in sub-urban areas during the Post COVID-19 era in Kampala district. The main objectives of the study was to examine the relationship between financial services accessibility and business survival; establish the relationship between financial services quality and business survival; assess the relationship between financial services terms and business survival; and examine the relationship between financial services accessibility, financial services quality, financial services terms and survival of female-owned small and medium enterprises in sub-urban areas during the Post COVID-19 era in Kampala district. The study adopted a cross sectional survey design with a population of 313 Female-owned enterprises from which a sample of 175 was selected using simple random sampling. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data. Findings indicated that there were both positive and significant relationships between financial services accessibility, financial services quality, financial services terms and business survival of Female-owned enterprises. Results from regression analysis showed that financial services accessibility, financial services quality and financial services terms were significant predictors of business survival of Female-owned enterprises. The study recommends that further studies should be carried out comprising of other factors which were not part of the model. The stakeholders in the SME sector should develop strategies in line with the study variable relationships to enhance the survival of Female-owned enterprises in Uganda. | |
