| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed at establishing the relationship between stakeholder involvement, project monitoring and evaluation and project sustainability. It was carried out in 28 sub counties in Karamoja district putting focus on nutrition relief UNICEF projects. The study adopted a cross sectional survey design and quantitative survey design. Correlation and Hierarchical regression were used to explain the relationships between the variables of the study and to show the extent to which the independent variables explain the dependent variable as well as the mediating role of project monitoring and evaluation. This study was based on 132 respondents who represented the various projects that have been implemented. The empirical findings from the study revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between stakeholder involvement, project monitoring and evaluation and project sustainability. The study further found out that the variables which predict project sustainability are teamwork and monitoring and evaluation. Moreover, it is evident that teamwork reveals a higher Beta compared to monitoring and evaluation. In this regard, the results signify that the most important predictor of project sustainability is team work with predictive potential of 60%. stakeholder involvement is not a strong predictor of successful project implementation. The study therefore recommends that project managers should improve their teamwork and project monitoring and evaluation. They should also promote learning in their organizations through encouraging team work; monitoring and evaluation and involvement of various stakeholders. Lastly, the government and other donors should promote successful project sustainability since it beneficial at the macro and micro level. | |
