This study examined the effect of social influence and agency relationships on procurement law compliance in Uganda’s secondary schools. The objectives were to determine the relationship between social influence and procurement law compliance, examine the relationship between agency relationships and procurement law compliance, and establish the predictive power of social influence and agency relationships on compliance. The study adopted a quantitative cross-sectional research design, targeting a population of 86 public secondary schools in Kampala District. A sample of 70 schools was selected, with two respondents from each school, yielding a total of 140 participants. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that both social influence (r = .706, p < .01) and agency relationships (r = .693, p < .01) were strongly and positively associated with procurement law compliance. Regression results indicated that social influence (β = .490, p < .001) and agency relationships (β = .465, p < .001) jointly predicted 66.2 percent of the variation in procurement law compliance, with social influence showing slightly higher predictive power. The study concludes that enhancing social influence through peer benchmarking, leadership commitment, and stakeholder engagement, alongside strengthening agency relationships through clear accountability frameworks and transparent reporting, are critical for improving procurement law compliance in secondary schools.
