| dc.description.abstract | Uganda's logistics sector is experiencing rapid growth, but this expansion has raised concerns about its environmental impact due to outdated technologies, weak environmental policies, and unsustainable practices. This study was conducted to examine how environmental awareness, technology acceptance, and organizational culture influence environmental sustainability in third party logistics (3PL) firms in Uganda. A cross-sectional quantitative research design was employed. The study targeted a population of 550 licensed 3PL firms, from which a sample of 226 firms was selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analysed using correlation and regression techniques. The results revealed that all three independent variables environmental awareness, technology acceptance, and organizational culture positively and significantly influence environmental sustainability. Among these, organizational culture emerged as the strongest predictor. These findings highlight the need for logistics firms to embed sustainability values into their culture, adopt environmentally friendly technologies, and promote environmental awareness at all organizational levels. The study recommends that 3PLs prioritize developing a sustainability-oriented culture through leadership commitment, training, and reward systems. Firms should also invest in modern technologies that support green logistics and conduct regular environmental awareness programs for employees. Policymakers are encouraged to support these efforts through incentives, policy frameworks, and capacity-building initiatives to foster sustainable development in Uganda’s logistics sector. | |
