dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement, management control systems and project sustainability of NGOs in Kampala district. The study employed a cross-sectional research design where data was collected using a close ended questionnaire. Correlation and regression Analysis were also adopted to explain the association and relationship respectively between the study variables in accordance to the objectives. Data was entered in SPSS version 26 to provide data from which the analysis was based. Findings show that there is a significant positive association between resource mobilization and project sustainability, and a positive association between stakeholder engagement and project sustainability. Management control systems had a partial mediation effect with all the variables. The findings indicate resource mobilization, stakeholder engagement and management control systems are significant predictors of project sustainability. As such, the researcher recommends that NGO’s managers should endeavor to connect and network with similar cause organizations, NGO’s leaders should as well take up income generating activities like providing consultancy services, charging user fees for services as well as carrying out trade in form of corporate social responsibilities and NGO’s managers to conform to transparency in line with government and funder’s requirements. The study followed a cross sectional approach and therefore future researchers need to apply a longitudinal approach on the same variables.
