dc.description.abstractEnsuring sustainability performance is global calling for safeguarding the world. However, many manufacturing companies continue to violate sustainability performance best practices. This study aimed at examining the relationship between management attitude, innovation, and sustainability performance of manufacturing industries in greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. It employed a cross-sectional research design and used quantitative research approach. The study used a sample of 177 manufacturing industries in greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. The data used was acquired using a questionnaire. The tool was tested for validity using expert judgment and content validity index, and reliability pretesting and running Cronbach Alpha Coefficient. Analysis of data was with the help of SPSS. 25 whereas results were presented using correlation and regression analysis. This research found that a positive association between management attitude and sustainability performance. In addition, there was a positive association between innovation and sustainability performance. It was noticed that management attitude and innovation significantly predict sustainability performance. This research further found that management attitude is a better predictor of sustainability performance compared to innovation. In conclusion, the study states that managers are crucial in such a way that most of the actions and behavior portrayed by manufacturing industries are a replica of their perception and attitude. This research recommends: managerial responsiveness to industry demands; conducting customer surveys; increased engagement in innovation; and investment in social responsibility matters.
