The study examined the connection between credit risk management techniques, intellectual capital, and loan portfolio performance. Quantitative methods and a cross-sectional methodology were used to evaluate data from 30 financial institutions, including risk managers, loan officers, and credit managers. Using regression and correlation analysis in SPSS version 26, the study's objectives were investigated. According to the results, intellectual capital has a positive and direct influence on loan portfolio performance. Furthermore, the performance of loan portfolios is positively affected by credit risk management strategies. Furthermore, both intellectual capital and credit risk management practices promote the loan portfolio's performance. When taken as a whole, the two variables explained the variation, which is important because it clarifies why there has been contradictory data in the literature about their relationship to loan portfolio performance. While future research should look at other impacting factors, the study suggests ongoing investment in intellectual capital pillars and improving credit risk management techniques to improve repayment performance, minimize arrears, and maintain a lower portfolio at risk.
