| dc.description.abstract | This research investigated the relationship between financial management strategies, capacity building and financial profitability among small-scale farmers in Matete, Sembabule district. It was cross-sectional research and used a quantitative approach. The study used a sample of 231 obtained from a total of 594 small-scale coffee farmers. Primary data was collected from the farmers with the help of a questionnaire. The study used SPSS (v. 25) to analyse data from field. Frequency tables, correlation and regression analyses were used to present results. The study found a positive relationship between financial management strategies and financial profitability. It was also established that capacity building is positively associated with financial profitability. The study affirmed that financial management strategies and capacity building significantly influence on the financial profitability. It also found that capacity building is the better predictor of financial profitability. The research concludes that its is indispensable to boost financial profitability without stimulating financial management strategies and capacity building. The study recommends: enhancing training and education; increased provision of extension services; and encourages farmers to network through farmer associations. | |
