| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between green IT practices, Corporate Social Responsibility on business competitiveness among SMEs in Nakawa division located in Kampala. The research utilized a cross-sectional design that facilitated the gathering of quantitative data through self-completed questionnaires. The target population included 5,320 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) located in the Nakawa division of Kampala. To ascertain the sample size of 359 SMEs, the study employed the Krejcie & Morgan (1970) sample distribution table. The study employed a linear regression model to determine the predictive potential of the independent variables, corporate social responsibility and green IT practices, on the dependent variable, business competitiveness, and Pearson correlation to determine the relationship between the variables. The quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS Version 26. The findings of the study revealed that there was a positive significant relationship between green IT practices and business competitiveness. The findings further revealed a positive significant relationship between corporate social responsibility and business competitiveness. The regression results showed that all the independent variables; that is, green IT practices and corporate social responsibility were significant predictors of business competitiveness. SPSS Version 26 was used to examine the quantitative data. The study's conclusions showed a strong positive correlation between corporate competitiveness and green IT practices. The results also showed that corporate social responsibility and business competitiveness had a considerable beneficial link. The findings of the regression analysis demonstrated that corporate social responsibility and green IT practices, were important predictors of business competitiveness. Based on the results, the researcher came to the conclusion that green IT practices significantly improved business competitiveness. The study also found that corporate social responsibility has a favourable and significant impact on business competitiveness. The study suggests that in order to attain commercial competitiveness, SMEs' management should prioritize environmental principles, follow eco-friendly standards, and be environmentally conscious. | |
