dc.description.abstractThe study sought to explain the relationship between transformational leadership, technology adoption and employee performance in public IT agencies of Uganda. The research was motivated by the fact that despite efforts to improve employee performance, staff in public IT agencies of Uganda continue to fall short of performance expectations, with only 35% meeting the expected standards and the remaining 65% failing to meet these standards. The study adopted a cross sectional survey design using quantitative approaches and 278 staff from 3 public ICT agencies were considered. Collected data was coded, cleaned and then analyzed objective by objective using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 adopted for Microsoft word. The results indicate that both transformational leadership and employee performance are significantly related (r = .488, p≤ .05), there was a significant relationship between technology adoption and employee performance (r =.688, p≤ .01), as well as a significant relationship between transformational leadership and technology adoption r = .658, p<.05). The study recommended that transformational leadership should be encouraged in public IT agencies and that there is need to adopt technology in public IT agencies in order to achieve employee performance in IT agencies.
