Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between insurance Product Customization, government support and sustainability of agriculture insurance in Uganda. The study was guided by the following research objectives; to examine the relationship between insurance Product Customization and sustainability of agriculture insurance among insurance firms in Uganda, to establish the relationship between government support and sustainability of agriculture insurance among insurance firms in Uganda and to examine the combined relationship between insurance Product Customization, government support and sustainability of agriculture insurance among insurance firms in Uganda. The research adopted a cross-sectional survey and a quantitative approach. Primary data was collected using self-administered questionnaires that were issued to the respondents. The population was drawn from 13 insurance firms that offer agriculture insurance and 65 respondents. Data was analysed with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS). Pearson’s correlation and regression were used to measure the relationship and predictability of the study variables. There was a positive significant relationship between insurance Product Customization and sustainability of agriculture insurance, a positive significant relationship between government support and sustainability of agriculture insurance and a positive significant combined relationship. Predictor variables explained 49.4% of the variance in the dependent variable but government support was a better predictor variable (β=0.604**, p<.01) than perceived risk (β=0.317*, p<.01). The researcher recommends strengthened collaboration between insurance providers and government agencies to develop tailored insurance products that address local agricultural risks.
