The study’s aim was to evaluate the relationship between supply chain knowledge management abilities (SCKMA) and supply chain risk management culture (SCRMC) on supply chain resilience (SCR) in the manufacturing sector of Mbarara City, Uganda. It sought to explore how these constructs contribute to enhancing resilience in the aspect of disruptions. A cross-sectional quantitative research design was employed, utilizing structured questionnaires distributed to 118 manufacturing firms in Mbarara City. The study's population comprised registered manufacturing companies. Regression analysis and Pearson's correlation were used to examine the data in order to ascertain the relationships between the variables. The results revealed significant positive correlations between SCKMA and SCR (r = 0.725) and between SCRMC and SCR (r = 0.590). Regression analysis indicated that SCKMA (β = 0.573) and SCRMC (β = 0.305) are significant predictors of SCR, with SCKMA having a more substantial impact. The study emphasizes the importance of KMA and RMC in fostering SCR. This research contributes to the limited literature on SCR in developing countries, particularly Uganda. It emphasizes the critical roles of SCKMA and SCRMC in enhancing resilience within the manufacturing sector, providing valuable insights for practitioners and policymakers aiming to strengthen supply chain operations in unstable environments. The findings highlight the necessity for organizations to prioritize knowledge management and cultivate a robust risk management culture to effectively navigate disruptions.
