The study adopted a cross-sectional research design along with a quantitative research approach. In this study, the researcher distributed 380 questionnaires, of which only 310 questionnaires were returned, representing a response rate of 81.6%. Quantitative data analysis was done using regression and correlation analyses. Study findings revealed a positive relationship between financial literacy and technology adoption of merchant payment technologies. The study found a positive and significant relationship between technology acceptance and technology adoption of merchant payment technologies. Findings revealed that merchants who are eager to learn more and make financial decisions independently can invest in payment technologies that are faster and efficient in their operations. It was further observed that merchants that find it easy to learn how to use payment methods and have the necessary knowledge to use payment technologies can know how to use most of the payment systems. It was recommended that providers of new digital technology should pay more attention to promoting the usefulness of their services.
