This research explored the connection between Collateral requirements, Managerial skills, and Access to finance among Agricultural Small and Medium Enterprises (Agri-SMEs). Employing a cross-sectional survey approach and a quantitative research framework, the study gathered numerical data from 226 Agri-SMEs, out of a total population of 550 Agri-SMEs,, using structured, closed-ended questionnaires. The selection process utilized simple random sampling. Questionnaire validity and reliability were confirmed through pretesting, yielding a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.833 and a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.728. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 25, incorporating both descriptive and inferential statistics, such as correlation and regression analyses. The correlation analysis showed a significant positive association between collateral requirements, management attributes, and access to finance. Furthermore, regression results indicated a significant positive influence of collateral requirements on access to finance. However, the influence of management attributes was found to be insignificant. The predictors (collateral requirements and management attributes) in the model account for a variation of 46.4% in access to finance. The findings have practical and policy implications for improving financial resource access to the agribusiness enterprises. It is recommended that Agri-SMEs ensure they meet the collateral type and value set by lenders to improve their chances of obtaining loans. Additionally, the study suggests the need for policies that outline acceptable forms of collateral that can be used to secure financing for Agri-SMEs.
