Abstract
The purpose of the study was to ascertain the relationship between firm capabilities, collaboration and effectiveness of digital stamping system of tracking. The ineffectiveness in the use of the stamps among some various segments of the business fraternity was a prime motivation for this study. A cross-sectional quantitative design was used in the study with a sample of 144 firms, but responses were obtained from only 124 firms. The reliability and validity of the data collection instrument were established using a Cronbach Alpha coefficient and a content validity index respectively. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23 software with a focus on descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and regression analyses, and SMART-PLS for mediation analysis. The Pearson correlation coefficients confirmed a positive and statistically significant relationship between firm capabilities, collaboration and effectiveness of digital stamping system of tracking. Also, a partial mediation effect of collaboration in the relationship between firm capabilities and effectiveness of digital stamping system of tracking was established. Further, the regression analysis results indicated that both firm capabilities and collaboration are statistically significant predictors of effectiveness of digital stamping system of tracking, accounting for 27.3%. It was therefore concluded that firm capabilities and collaboration among firms result in the effectiveness of digital stamping system of tracking. Recommendations were suggested including: the firms need to develop capabilities necessary for their operations and transformational purposes; need by the firms to demonstrate ability to improve their business processes and respond rapidly to shifts in business priority; need by the firms to put in place appropriate information system that facilitates information dissemination; and finally, need by the firms to collaborate with the tax authorities by complying with the policies and regulations governing their operations.
