Abstract
The study was directed by the following objectives: to establish the relationship between Transformational leadership and SRCP in Busoga Sub-Region; to assess the relationship between stakeholder engagement and SRCP in Busoga Sub-Region, and to investigate the impact of transformational leadership and stakeholder engagement on SRCP in Busoga Sub-Region. The study used a cross-sectional and quantitative research design. Using a self-administered questionnaire, data were gathered from a sample of 109 Road construction project stakeholders. Data analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23. Correlation and regression analysis were also applied. The study found that Transformational leadership and SRCP are positively and significantly related. It also discovered a positive and significant relationship between Stakeholder Engagement and SRCP. Regression analysis revealed that both Transformational Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement are significant predictors of SRCP and explain 31.8% of the variance in SRCP. Transformational leadership emerged as the better predictor of SRCP compared to Stakeholder Engagement. Based on the findings, we concluded that for road construction projects to succeed, we should emphasize developing and implementing transformational leadership attributes and prioritize stakeholder engagement as key components of project management. The study recommended that project leaders should be enabled to act with purpose, involve teams, and enhance creativity in order to attain good project results. It was also recommended that project managers should incorporate stakeholder management practices that motivate consultation from the preliminary stages of the project and communication throughout the period.
