dc.descriptionThis study was carried out to establish the contribution of employee motivation to organizational effectiveness of private enterprises. The study was conducted in Multiple Industries Limited (MIL). Multiple Industries Limited is a plastic manufacturing industry based on 8th street Industrial area, striving to be the best manufacturer and supplier of plastic pipes and fittings among others. The study involved 48 respondents of whom 19 were from the operation and production department, 18 from sales and marketing department, 6 were from the human resource and accounts each department contributing 3 respondents and 5 were from the general administration. Data was collected mainly through the use of self-administered questionnaires and interviews. Observation and use of company documents and literature on motivation and organizational productivity were also used to supplement the primary data. The study findings revealed that though the employees are very vital in the running of an organization efficiently and effectively, the management of Multiple Industries Ltd has done little to motivate employees, a fact that affects the productivity of the company. It was concluded from the study findings that: i. There is a relationship between employee motivation and organization effectiveness. ii. The efficiency and effectiveness of Multiple Industries Limited was low because the motivation of employees was low. iii. That the managers still have a lot to deal with in the policies concerning the employees and their welfare. It was recommended from the study that: i). Private organizations should not only look at technology, salary, skilled manpower and political environment as the main determinant of an efficient and effective organization, but human welfare. ii). The managers should be tampered by the principle of good governance in managing organizations and employees. iii) The principle of susdiarity should be applied by the managers of private enterprises. iv) Managers should also be tempered by the ethical obligation to respect the rights of workers because they play a significant role in the survival of a business.
