Abstract
This study investigated how relational trust and project risk management influence innovation resilience behaviors among artisans in Jinja City. Guided by transformational leadership theory, the research surveyed 225 artisan businesses, selected from a population of 550 using the Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sample table. Proprietors participated through purposive sampling, and the research team analyzed data with SPSS version 23, confirming validity and reliability with the content validity index and Cronbach’s alpha. The study found that the correlation between relational trust and innovation resilience was positive and significant (r = 0.473, p<0.01), while project risk management correlated even more strongly with innovation resilience (r = 0.558, p<0.01). Regression analysis further revealed that relational trust and project risk management together explained 37.3% of the variance in innovation resilience behaviors (Adjusted R² = 0.373). The model proved highly significant (F Change = 67.541, p = 0.000). Specifically, the regression results showed that relational trust had a moderate, positive effect (Beta = 0.285, p = 0.000), while project risk management exerted a stronger influence (Beta = 0.436, p = 0.000). Because the study found both relational trust and project risk management significantly impact innovation resilience with risk management having the stronger effect it recommends that artisan should emphasize individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation to strengthen trust and collaboration. At the same time, organizations should prioritize robust project risk management practices to maximize innovation resilience. The study acknowledges limitations in data transparency and sensitivity and calls for longitudinal and qualitative research to deepen understanding of resilient behaviors.
