Quality management for maize is fundamental for safeguarding safety, nutritional value, and ensuring marketability the cereal worldwide. Nonetheless, quality management among maize farmers remains low. Accordingly, this study was established to examine the relationship between agro-credit facility, value-addition practices and quality management among maize farmers in Kiryandongo district. The objectives were; to examine the relationship between agro-credit facility and quality management; examine the relationship between value-addition practices and quality management; and examine the joint relationship between agro-credit facility, value addition and quality management among maize farmers. The study was a cross-sectional design which applied a quantitative approach. The sample comprised 236 maize farmers, selected using systematic sampling from a population of 575 maize farmers in Kiryandongo district. A structured questionnaire was used to obtain data. SPSS (v 25) was applied in data analysis to obtain a frequency table, Pearson Correlation and Hierarchical Regression Models for interpretation of results. The study found a positive association between agro-credit facility and quality management. There was a positive relationship between value addition practices and quality management among maize farmers. Furthermore, the study obtained that agro-credit facility and quality management are significant predictors for quality management among maize farmers. Agro-credit facility was found to cause higher predictability towards quality management compared to value-addition practices. The study concludes that ensuring quality management for maize cannot manifest to some extent without agro-credit facility and value addition. The study recommends; flexing terms and conditions for accessing agro-credit facility to farmers; increasing credit accessibility; and stimulating efficiency in extending agro-credit facility to farmers.
