During imbalu rituals, candidates are brought from cultural sites to the operation theater. The candidate is normally escorted by the mother's relatives. In this recording, on his way to the theater, the candidate is given final instruments (or blessings) by the father (Nathan Mawewe) and encourages him to stand firmly. After wards, the procession heads to the surgery theater for the operation.
