dc.description.abstractEmployee morale is a crucial determinant of organizational success, as it significantly impacts productivity, engagement, and overall job satisfaction. This study, conducted at Engie Energy Access Uganda, examined the causes and effects of low employee morale and proposed actionable strategies to improve employee morale. The research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing structured surveys distributed across various departments within the organization. A cross-sectional survey was undertaken using a stratified sample of 92 respondents. The survey instrument included Likert scale questions designed to measure employee perceptions of morale-related factors such as leadership effectiveness, career growth opportunities, and workplace conditions. The responses were analysed statistically to identify significant trends impacting morale levels. The findings revealed that low employee morale at Engie Energy Access Uganda is primarily attributed to factors such as ineffective leadership practices, lack of recognition and appreciation, and limited career development opportunities. These factors resulted in decreased productivity, diminished team collaboration, reduced employee engagement, and lower customer satisfaction. The study underscores the cascading effects of low morale, emphasising its impact on both internal operations and external service quality. This research highlights the importance of prioritising employee morale to drive organisational success and recommends strategies that Engie Energy Access Uganda should adopt to create a more motivated and productive workforce. By addressing morale issues proactively, the organisation can enhance employee well-being, foster collaboration, and achieve sustainable growth.
