Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between coordination complexity, collaboration complexity, configuration complexity and supply chain performance in Ugandan Manufacturing firms focusing on Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires that were hand-delivered to the respondents. Overall, responses were received from 231 firms. The results revealed positive and significant relationships between coordination complexity and supply chain performance, collaboration complexity and supply chain performance, and configuration complexity and supply chain performance. Further, coordination complexity, collaboration complexity, and configuration complexity account for up to 46.3% of the variance in supply chain performance. Based on the study findings, recommendations were advanced regarding the need to strengthen configuration complexity, coordination complexity, and collaboration complexity so as to enhance supply chain performance in Ugandan manufacturing firms.
