Abstract
This study examined the relationships between technology acceptance, perceived usefulness, and perceived system efficiency in the legal sector, focusing on the High Court Commercial Division of Uganda. A cross-sectional research design was employed, utilizing quantitative methods to analyze data from 44 legal professionals. Correlation and regression analyses revealed that information quality had a weak influence on perceived usefulness, while management support showed a moderate positive effect Perceived usefulness significantly influenced perceived system efficiency and played a key mediating role between technology acceptance and perceived system efficiency. The findings highlight the importance of management support in enhancing perceived usefulness and system efficiency, contributing to the effective adoption of legal technology. Based on these findings, organizations should enhance information quality by ensuring continuous updates, accuracy, and reliability to improve user satisfaction and system effectiveness. Strengthening management support and leadership is also crucial, as active managerial involvement in promoting and aligning technology with organizational goals can enhance its adoption and long-term viability. Additionally, investing in comprehensive training programs will Help legal professionals maximize their use of technology, improving both perceived usefulness and system efficiency. Organizations should also encourage user feedback to adapt and refine legal technology systems, ensuring they remain relevant and effective in supporting legal workflows. Finally, integrating technology seamlessly into existing legal processes can further enhance its usability and overall efficiency, leading to a more effective legal sector.
