| dc.description.abstract | Financial inclusion is essential for economic development and empowerment, fostering inclusive growth. However, evidence shows that women-owned bakeries in Kampala underutilize formal financial services. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the use of mobile money services, digital financial literacy, and financial inclusion among these businesses. A cross-sectional study using a quantitative approach was conducted with 97 randomly selected participants. The correlation findings revealed significant positive associations between the study variables namely; mobile money services usage, digital financial literacy and financial inclusion. Multiple regression analysis indicated that mobile money services usage is an insignificant predictor of financial inclusion while digital financial literacy is a significant positive predictor of financial inclusion. The findings further indicated that digital financial literacy significantly and fully mediates the relationship between mobile money services usage and financial inclusion. The study recommends that stakeholders collaborate to promote digital financial literacy among women-owned bakeries in Kampala. Government agencies and business associations should provide incentives and tailored training programs to enhance awareness and adoption of these services. Financial institutions and technology companies should develop targeted training programs focusing on practical financial management skills. The study was limited to data collection challenges, such as respondents withholding information. Thus, a longitudinal study is recommended to provide stronger evidence of causality. | |
