The study examined the relationship between stakeholder management, IT project complexity, and IT project success using a case of Makerere University Business School. The stakeholder management and IT project complexity were studied as independent variables while IT project success was a dependent variable. MUBS over the years has switched from one IT system to another, this comes with challenges such as data migration risks, potential disruptions to workflow, user retraining, and user resistance to change. Many systems implemented have short lived, some fail to deliver as expected while some have overrun their cost, time, and scope. The study adopted quantitative, descriptive research design. A self-administered questionnaire was used as the tool for primary data collection. A sample of 250 respondents was selected from a population of 300. Correlation and regression analysis were established in order to ascertain the association and relationship between study variables. The research findings show a significant and positive association between stakeholder management and IT project success. There was also a positive significant association between IT project complexity and IT project success. Regression analysis confirmed that there was a linear relationship between stakeholder management and IT project complexity on IT project success and this was significant with Adjusted R Square =.607) implying 61% variations in IT project success is due to both stakeholder management and IT project complexity. Finally, the researcher recommends that the University should enhance project management competencies through stakeholder training and workshops in order to manage IT projects complexities.
