dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at examining the relationship between NGOs' collaboration, partnerships, and NGO performance in selected NGOs in Kampala City. The objectives of this study were to examine: the relationship between NGOs' collaboration and performance; the relationship between NGOs' partnerships and performance; the relationship between NGOs' collaboration, partnerships, and performance. A cross-sectional survey design with a quantitative approach in generating the required information was used. In this study, there were 235 NGOs in Kampala City from which a sample140 were drawn, with 280 respondents selected in categories of general manager and one project supervisor. The simple random sampling technique was used to select the selected members that made up the unit of inquiry, which was appropriate for this study based on their accessibility. Data collection was done using survey questionnaires, and the SPSS software package was used for data analysis. Collaboration had a positive linear relationship with NGO performance (r=0.756, p<0.05), as was the case with partnership (r=0.655, P<0.05). This was a clear indicator that collaboration and partnership as separate independent variables have a positive effect on NGO partnership as a dependent variable. The combined effect of collaboration (B=0.300, P<0.05) and partnership (B=0.362, P<0.05) gave statistically significant results, a clear indicator that they significantly affect NGO performance. The study recommended that NGOs should set up regular networking initiatives with other organizations and stakeholders. It was also established that NGOs should organize collaborative training programs that bring together staff from multiple organizations to enhance skill sharing and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, it was established that NGOs should prioritize the creation of formal partnership agreements that clearly define the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of each partner.
