The official digital platform for gathering, conserving, and sharing academic and institutional outputs created by Makerere University Business School (MUBS) is the MUBS Institutional Repository (MUBS IR). The Department of Finance's academic and research outputs, such as theses, dissertations, journal articles, conference papers, working papers, and other scholarly works, are hosted in this sub-community. It supports MUBS's objective of promoting worldwide information sharing, open access, and research visibility. The MUBS Institutional Repository Policy, which supports long-term digital preservation of scholarly work, guarantees adherence to intellectual property rights, and encourages open science, governs the repository's operations.

The Makerere University Business School Council has officially approved the Institutional Repository Policy, establishing a comprehensive framework for managing scholarly communication, open access dissemination, and digital preservation of academic outputs. This milestone strengthens MUBS’s commitment to open science, research visibility, and global knowledge sharing. All departments, including the Department of Finance, are encouraged to actively deposit research outputs to enhance institutional impact and compliance with international standards. Future updates will include training sessions, metadata standardization workshops, and enhanced integration with global indexing platforms such as Google Scholar and OpenAIRE.
