- ItemMonitoring and Evaluation Practices, Team Capacity, and Performance of Livelihood Projects in Terego district.(Makerere University Business School, 2025-11-24) Aol, SharonThis study aimed at examining the relationship between monitoring and evaluation practices, Team capacity, and project performance of Livelihood projects in the Terego District. The study employed a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. In this study, 48 projects were sampled from a population of 55 skilling projects in Terego District. Data was collected from 144 respondents working in 48 Livelihood projects using a closed ended questionnaire. The data was analyzed using SPSS software version 25 to conduct both descriptive and inferential statistics that included correlations and regressions. The mediation graph was developed using a Med Graph. Findings from correlation analysis revealed a significant positive association between Monitoring & evaluation Practices and project performance, as well as between Team capacity and project performance. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed a significant positive influence of team capacity and M&E on project performance. The findings further revealed that Team capacity fully mediates the relationship between M&E practices and project performance of Livelihood projects in the Terego District. The study recommends that managers of Livelihood projects in the Terego District should employ an adequate number of well-trained, experienced and skilled M&E staff. It also recommends development and implementation of team capacity policy that can guide the development of effective and efficient M&E team. The study further recommends that managers of Livelihood projects should put in place capacity building activities aimed at improving the skills and experience of the M&E Team.
