dc.description.abstractThis study focused on establishing the relationship between Service Innovation Capability, Information Technology Adoption and Green Logistics Performance of logistics firms in Kampala. The unit of analysis was 235 logistics firms within Kampala while the unit of inquiry included operation personnel responsible for everyday operations of logistics activities like supply chain managers and officers, transportation managers and officers, logistics managers and officers, operational managers and officers among other personnel that were knowledgeable about green logistics. Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey, the study realized a response rate of 80.9%. The Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) version 20 was used for analyzing data with focus on descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and regression analyses. The study revealed a moderate positive significant correlation between all the variables that is service firm innovation capability and Green Logistics Performance, IT adoption and Green Logistics Performance. Furthermore, the regression analysis, revealed that service firm innovation capability and IT adoption are predictors of Green Logistics Performance and they account for up to 43.9% (adjusted R square = .439). Based on the study findings, recommendations were advanced regarding the need to embrace service firm innovation capability and IT adoption then subsequently enhance green logistics performance in logistics firms in Kampala.
