    Procurement Practices, Supply Chain Agility and Supply Chain Performance of Manufacturing Firms in Jinja District.

    The study intended to investigate the relationship between procurement practices, supply chain agility and supply chain performance of manufacturing firms in Jinja district. The study was driven by the worry about several disruptions that have impacted the efficacy and efficiency of the manufacturing firms’ supply chain in the fast-paced commercial environment. A cross-sectional design was used, with a sample size of 165 manufacturing firms operating in Jinja district. Simple random sampling was used for the selection of the respondents. The Cronbach Alpha coefficient and the content validity index, respectively, were used to establish the instrument's reliability and validity. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were the main areas of focus for the SPSS data analysis. The regression results showed that procurement practices predict supply chain performance (β =.291, p<0.01). The results further indicated that procurement practices also predict supply chain agility (β=.371, p<0.001). Additionally, the findings revealed that supply chain agility predict supply chain performance (β= .519, p<0.001). The regression analysis results revealed that both procurement practices and supply chain agility predict supply chain performance. As well it was established that supply chain agility partially mediates the relationship between procurement practices and supply chain performance (Sobel z-value=3.70835, p-value=0.000209).
