- ItemStakeholder Engagement, Project Leadership and Project Success A Case of Refugee Based Non-Governmental Organisations in Yumbe District(Makerere University Business School, 2021-09-29) SSALI RASHIDThe study examined the relationship between Stakeholder Engagement, Project Leadership and Project Success of refugee based Non-Governmental Organizations in Yumbe District. The study was based on the following research objectives: to examine the relationship between Stakeholder engagement and Project success, to examine the relationship between Project leadership and Project success and to examine a combined relationship of Stakeholder engagement and Project leadership on Project success. The study adopted a cross sectional research design using a quantitative approach. Questionnaires were used for data collection. A sample of 191 respondents was chosen from a population of 376. Out of 191 respondents targeted, 172 returned the questionnaire representing a response rate of 90.2%. Using regression analysis and correlations, quantitative analysis was done. The findings revealed that there is a positive relationship between stakeholder engagement and project success. There is also a significant relationship between project leadership and project success. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between stakeholder engagement, project leadership and project success. This study therefore concluded that stakeholder engagement and project leadership significantly predict project success but only up to 75% suggesting that there are other factors. The researcher recommends involvement of all stakeholders at every stage of decision making pertaining the project. In addition, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based strategies using online platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp should be adopted to further ease and speed up information flow. There should be continuous training and performance evaluation of the project managers and their teams to not only ensure stakeholder satisfaction but also realization of refugee project objectives. The project team need to be made to be aware of new policies and the impact of the action.
