    Logistics Capabilities, Drug Supply Chain Risk Management and Health Facilities Supplier Performance in Central Uganda.

    The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between logistics capabilities, drug supply chain risk management and health facilities supplier performance in Health facilities in Central Uganda specifically focusing on Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono districts. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted using 340 health facilities from a sample size of 181 health facilities. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires that were hand delivered to the respondents. Overall, 108 usable questionnaires representing 60% response rate were collected for analysis. The analysis of data involved descriptive statistics for demographics, correlations and regression analyses for answering the research questions in accordance with the set objectives. The results revealed positive and significant relationships between the following variables; logistics capabilities and supplier performance, logistics capabilities and drug supply chain risk management and drug supply chain risk management and supplier performance. Also, the mediating role of drug supply chain risk management on logistics capabilities and supplier performance was established. In further analysis, it was found that logistics capabilities and drug supply chain risk management account for up to 36.3% of the variance in supplier performance. Based on the study findings, recommendations were advanced regarding the need to strengthen drug supply chain risk management and logistics capabilities so as to subsequently improve supplier performance in Ugandan Health facilities.
