(Makerere University Business School, 2020-11-26) Nakimuli, Moureen
The purpose of the study was to establish the levels of employee engagement, challenges faced in enhancing employee engagement and to suggest strategies that can Enhance Employee Engagement at Living Goods Uganda. The study employed a cross-sectional descriptive design and adopted quantitative research approaches of data collection. The targeted sample size was 103 employees of LG Uganda. Quantitative data analysis was done using SPSS version 23, to generate descriptive statistics. Findings show that levels of employee engagement at LG are relatively high although LG needs to adopt practical strategies to maintain the high levels of Employee Engagement. In addition, learning support and career development for employees should be prioritized, there is need to benchmark salary levels, recognize and reward employees based on demonstration of core values and LG should use formal performance management processes for its employees. The study recommends further research into studies of a longer duration, such as longitudinal surveys that combine organizations to paint a bigger picture regarding Employee Engagement levels in low and middle income settings.
