    Financial Management Practices, Internal Control System and Performance of Non-Governmental Organisations in West Nile Region in Uganda.

    The study found out that financial management practices and internal control system predict performance of NGOs by 31.4% and 40.4% respectively. The study used cross sectional survey design using a sample of 64 NGOs, giving a response rate of 74.4%. The data was collected using questionnaire and was analyzed using SPSS version 26. Pearson correlation and regression analysis were used to determine the degree of the relationship among financial management practices, internal control system and performance of NGOs in West Nile region, Uganda. Findings of the study revealed a significant positive relationship between financial management system, internal control system and performance of NGOs. The regression analysis results show that financial management practices and internal control system predict 42.9% of the observed variance in performance of NGOs. This implies that there are other predictors of performance of NGOs besides financial management practices and internal control system, thus, further research is called for, to find the other predictors of performance of NGOs. The study recommends that NGOs should put more emphasis on the financial management practices in improving the performance of NGOs by using good policy towards financial management practices and internal control system.
