    Project Design, Risk Management, And The Sustainability of Livelihood Support Projects in Uganda.

    This study sought to examine the correlation between project design, risk management, and the sustainability of community livelihood support initiatives in Uganda. The specific objectives were to determine the relationship between project design and the sustainability of livelihood support projects in Jinja district, to examine the correlation between risk management and the performance of these projects, and to assess the combined impact of project design and risk management on their sustainability in Jinja district. The study utilized stakeholder theory to clarify the potential relationship between the variables. The research utilized a cross sectional design. A sample of sixty-seven (67) livelihood support projects was extracted from a total of eighty-one (81) projects in Jinja district, employing Slovin's formula for calculating sample size. The researcher employed simple random sampling to choose the sample and subsequently entered the data into SPSS version 23 for analysis. The researcher validated the data's accuracy and consistency using the content validity index and the Cronbach alpha coefficient. The researcher employed the mean and standard deviation for descriptive data analysis. The data was examined for correlation to determine the strength of the link between the research variables. The data was evaluated for regression to evaluate the impact of the predictor variables on the outcome variable. The study findings indicated a substantial association among project design, risk management, and the sustainability of community livelihood support projects. Regression analysis indicated that project design and project risk management are good predictors of the sustainability of community livelihood support projects. The report recommends that sustainability of livelihood support projects should adopt a holistic approach that integrates project design and risk management, enhancing project relevance and responsiveness to community needs. This includes refining design processes, strengthening risk management, providing training, establishing a robust monitoring framework, and engaging stakeholders.
