    Project Leadership Skills, Innovative Procurement Practices and Performance of Roads Construction Projects of Kampala Capital City Authority in Uganda.

    This study investigated the relationship between leadership skills and innovative procurement practices and the performance of road construction projects. The study was guided by three objectives which were; to establish the relationship between project leadership skills and performance of road construction projects of KCCA, to establish the relationship between innovative procurement practices and performance of road construction projects of KCCA, and to establish the combined effect of leadership skills and innovative procurement on the performance of road construction projects of KCCA. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design using the quantitative approach and a sample of 86 KCCA projects was used. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive, correlation, and regression analyses. The study revealed that project leadership skills and innovative procurement practices have positive and significant relationship with the performance of construction projects. Regression results also revealed that project leadership skills and innovative procurement practices had a significant combined effect on the performance of construction projects. It was concluded that project leadership skills are essential for the performance of road construction projects, innovative procurement practices are paramount for the performance of road construction projects, and combined, project leadership skills and innovative procurement practices significantly enhance the performance of construction projects.
