    Project Management Process, Stakeholder Engagement, And Project Success: A Case of Youth Livelihood Projects in Wakiso District.

    The purpose of the study is to establish the relationship between project management process, stakeholder engagement and project success of the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP) projects in Wakiso District. This was because the YLP is not as successful as anticipated since it failed to commence within the first six months in many villages, and lacked clear objectives (MGLSD, 2019). The program is characterized by inefficiency, limited beneficiary satisfaction, poor project quality and increased cost irrespective of project management process and stakeholder’s engagement. Hence the objectives were: to examine the relationship between project management process and project success, to examine the relationship between stakeholder engagement and project success, to examine the relationship between project management process and stakeholder engagement and to examine the relationship between project management process, stakeholder engagement and project success. The study used a cross-sectional research design which was of a quantitative approach. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 66 projects (four respondents from each). Findings show that there is a positive significant relationship between project management process and project success (r=.399**, p<.01), there is a positive significant relationship between stakeholder engagement and project success (r=.539**, p<.01), there is a positive significant relationship between project management process and project success (r=.562**, p<.01).and that that both the project management process and stakeholder engagement predict 29.8 percent of the variance in project success (Adjusted R Square = 0.298). It was recommended that the entire project management process of the YLP projects in Wakiso need to be reviewed by the government of Uganda in a forensic process, and that all classes of stakeholders should be involved throughout the YLP projects if they are to meet the specified project outcomes/goals.
