- ItemIT Capabilities, Knowledge Management and Information Mangement Capability.(2023) Kisaakye, MargaretThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between information technology capabilities, knowledge management and information management capability in Health care projects in Eastern Uganda focusing on Mbale, Iganga and Jinja. The specific objectives of the study where; to examine the relationship between IT capabilities and information management capability, to examine the relationship between knowledge management and information management capability and examine the combined effect of IT capabilities and knowledge management on information management capability. This study was underpinned by resource based view (RBV) theory. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted on 112 health care projects from a sample size of 86 health care projects. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires that were hand delivered to the respondents. Overall, 70 usable questionnaires representing 81.3% response rate were collected for correlation and regression analysis. The validity and reliability analysis showed that the study variables least 0.7 and above. The analysis of data involved descriptive statistics for demographics, correlations and regression analyses for answering the research questions. The results revealed a strong positive and significant relationships between the; IT capabilities and information management capability (r = .480**, p<.01), and knowledge management and information management capability (r =.516**, p<.01). Based on the study findings, recommendations were given regarding the need to strengthen IT capabilities and knowledge management so to enhance information management capability in health care projects in Eastern Uganda.
