- ItemInternal Control, Stakeholder Participation and Financial Accountability in Government Aided Secondary Schools in West Nile Region Uganda.(Makerere University Business School, 2025-10-28) Bakaki PaulThe purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between internal control, stakeholder participation, and financial accountability in government-aided secondary schools in west Nile region of Uganda. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted from a population of 71 government-aided secondary schools and a sample size of 63 schools, each receiving four questionnaires, making a total of 252 respondents. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires that were either hand-delivered or emailed to respondents. Overall, filled questionnaires were received from 210 respondents, representing a response rate of 83.3% was attained for analysis. The analysis of data involved correlation and regression analysis for answering the research questions in accordance with the study objectives. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between internal control, stakeholder participation, and financial accountability in government-aided secondary schools in West Nile region of Uganda.
