    Work Environment, Teacher Quality and Education Quality in UPE Schools in Sheema Municipality.

    This study examined work environment, teacher quality and education quality in UPE schools in Sheema municipality. A cross sectional survey design was employed whereby data were collected at a specific point in time. Given the nature of research objectives, correlation analysis was performed to test associations between the study variables, while a hierarchical regression analysis was used to test both the individual and combined predictive power of work environment and teacher quality on education quality The study results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between work environment and teacher quality, a positive and significant relationship between work environment and education quality; and a positive and significant relationship between teacher quality and education quality. The results further show that teacher quality mediates the relationship between work environment and education quality. The study recommends that there is need for public primary schools to be equipped with the necessary work equipment and ensure good working spaces. The government should therefore take it upon themselves to ensure that these schools have enough physical equipment like boards, offices, furniture and also ensure that the work conditions are favorable if quality education is to be achieved. Also the teachers should be given chance to enhance their experiences in these schools so as to improve their expertise and effectiveness. This can be ensured through continuous on job training and job rotation such that they are exposed to different work activities. This will increase their esteem and confidence to execute their roles as required which will improve education quality.
