This study primarily focused on the following objectives: to analyse the relationship between risk management and ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurers in Uganda, to explore the relationship between stakeholder engagement and ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurers in Uganda, and to assess the combined impact of risk management and stakeholder engagement on ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurers in Uganda. The research employed a cross-sectional design, utilizing a sample of 58 commercial banks and insurance companies in Uganda. The data underwent reliability testing, were analysed with SPSS v23, and the results were presented according to the study objectives. The findings indicated a substantial and affirmative correlation between risk management and ESG sustainability within commercial banks and insurers in Uganda. Moreover, the findings revealed a substantial positive correlation between stakeholder involvement and ESG sustainability within commercial banks and insurers in Uganda. Risk management and stakeholder engagement account for 14.9% of the variance in ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurance companies in Uganda. Furthermore, stakeholder engagement emerged as a more robust predictor of ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurers in Uganda than risk management. Consequently, the report advised that commercial banks and insurers in Uganda prioritize stakeholder management to attain ESG sustainability. This can be achieved by fostering enthusiasm, commitment, and engagement among personnel during task execution. Additional research may be undertaken to identify other predictors of ESG sustainability among commercial banks and insurers in Uganda, as the independent variables currently account for just 14.9% of the variance.
