- ItemDeterminants of Technology Adoption, Process Innovativeness and Employee Engagement in 5-Star rated Hotels in Uganda.(Makerere University Business School, 2021-11-24) Nantongo, AllenThe study focused on establishing the effect of dimensions of technology adoption and process innovativeness on Employee Engagement in 5 Star -rated Hotels in Uganda. The study employed various objectives like assessing the relationship between Determinants of technology Adoption and employee engagement in 5-Star rated hotels in Uganda, examining the relationship between process innovativeness and employee engagement in 5-Star rated hotels in Uganda and establishing the extent to which determinants of technology adoption and process innovativeness jointly predict employee engagement in 5-star rated hotels in Uganda. The study also adopted a cross-sectional research design which compares data at point in time quantitative approaches were adopted (Mugenda & Mugenda, 1999). The design was chosen because it enables the researcher to obtain information needed for the study about the effect of determinants of technology adoption on and employee engagement in 5 star-rated hotels in Uganda. The study employed simple random sampling where 297 respondents from star-rated hotels in Uganda were considered to give relevant data about the topic of study. The findings revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between perceived usefulness lead to increased employee engagement. Therefore, the result can be interpreted that using Hotel Information Management System improves my performance and technology is selected for use by an individual or an organization, there is also a significant positive relationship between Perceived ease of use and employee engagement. The study recommended that the management of the hotel is also recommended to emphasize various technology adoption factors such as E- Menu servicing to enhance the hotel performance in terms of productivity and revenue generations. In conclusion, The study focused on establishing the relationship between determinants of technology adoption, process innovativeness and employee engagement in 5 star hotels in Uganda. There exists a positive and significant correlation between determinants of technology adoption and employee engagement. Therefore an improvement in the status of determinants of technology adoption is associated with improvement in employee engagement.
