| dc.description.abstract | The study was undertaken to examine the relationship between organisational culture, psychological empowerment and workforce agility in the life insurance companies in Uganda. The objectives that guided the study included; to examine the relationship between organisational culture and workforce agility; to assess the relationship between organisational culture and psychological empowerment; to establish the relationship between psychological empowerment and workforce agility and to investigate the mediating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship between organisational culture and workforce agility. The study was conducted using a cross sectional survey design which involved a quantitative approach. Questionnaires were used for the purpose of data collection. The sample size of the study included 340 employees drawn from the eight life insurance companies in Uganda. A response rate of 95% was obtained for this study. The correlation results showed that all the relationships between the variables as per the study objectives were positive and significant. The mediation results reported that psychological empowerment partially mediates the relationship between organisational culture and workforce agility. The study recommends that life insurance companies in Uganda should invest in establishing strong organisational cultures and support their employees’ psychological empowerment if they are to enable them to be proactive, adaptive and resilient in the dynamic and competitive life insurance landscape in Uganda. | |
